Cancer Screening

Cancer Screening

Cancer screening helps prevent cancer by finding early changes in your body that would become cancerous if left untreated. Screening for cancers reduce mortality by early detection and treatment.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in India. Since Pre-cancerous lesions or even early-stage cervical cancer generally shows no signs or symptoms, so as to detect and treat earlier enough, regular screening is imperative. Cervical cancer is caused by persistent Infection with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)- a prevalent sexually transmitted infection and agent responsible for majority of cervical cancer cases. There are more than 100 types of HPV but not all cause cancer, thus correctly identifying and differentiating the HPV is critical.

It is observed that most cancer patients in India find themselves diagnosed with cancer at a much
advanced stage.

This has resulted in higher cancer-related mortality.
Hemogenomics aims to bring about a change in this situation by providing early screening solutions, starting with cervical cancer screening.
