Every 2 seconds, someone needs blood in India

A car accident victim requires as many as 100 units of blood. And in the case of a few chronic patients, periodic blood transfusions are needed throughout their lives. In other words, blood transfusions occur on a large scale and need to be performed with utmost care and safety.

A report by the Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine, titled ‘Consensus Document on Prevention of TTI: Future Directions’, states that, by adopting Individual Donor Nucleic Acid Testing (ID-NAT) across all blood banks, the country can potentially prevent about 90,000 new infections every year. In fact, a Supreme Court judgement asked the government to provide safe blood for all, and to prevent any infections or diseases that might spread through transfusions.

ID-NAT: The Uncompromised NAT

Highest analytical sensitivity:

No sample dilution, lowest LOD

Shortest window period:

IDT superiority

Globally most acceptable

NAT method

TMA Technology

Advanced and most suited technology for blood screening

Single tube format:
Minimises contamination

Isothermal reaction:
Exponential rate of amplification

HIV dual region detection:
Maximum protection against mutants and reduced risk of missed infections

Reduced cross-contamination:
RNA amplicons as end product

Shortest window period possible. No room for Transfusion
Transmitted Infections.

NAT is used by the USA, most of Europe, and Asia including Japan and Sri Lanka. In India, AIIMS Delhi, Jodhpur, and Rishikesh, PGI Chandigarh, CMC Vellore, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital Delhi, Gangaram Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Medanta – The Medicity, PD Hinduja Hospital, and Reliance use NAT.

We also offer advanced and fully automated blood screening platforms using Chemiluminescence technology in partnership with Siemens.
